How do you make money from Blogging?

Many people make money from blogging online, but how? In this article, I discuss how to set up a blog and monetize it. I also explore some of the popular blogs around.

How to set up a Blog
1. Find your blog name and make sure that it is short enough to get a Twitter handle and that the social media username is available. It should be a niche or specialism - very specific topic. I chose www.templeseeker.com so that I can be @templeseeker on social media.
2. Register your domain with GoDaddy as a .com (do not set up on a free platform such as blogspot or wordpress.com ads you won’t be taken seriously as a blogger).
3. Secure social media usernames and set up accounts. Do initial posts using #hashtags and @mentions and gain your first followers.
4. Install Wordpress.org on your blog (Go Daddy have a 24/7 helpline and will help you with this.
5. Write 10 first articles and schedule them in!

How to Monetize your Blog

1. Register on Awin for Affiliate Marketing - http://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awin...
2. Get yourself an Adsense account on www.google.com/adsense and install banners on your site (If you can’t do this yourself, hire a freelancer to do that for you on PPH).
3. Set up a freelancer account on PPH to get freelancing work and also affiliate income for recommending the site - https://www.peopleperhour.com/site/...

My best affiliate marketing promotes the best Matched Betting sites, and I can earn up to £15 per referral. Times that by 10 per week, and that's £150 a week, £600 a month, from literally doing nothing other than maintaining your blog. It's definitely worth it.

Advantages of Twitter Marketing Using Twitter is like sending a text message to the world! It offers the facility to ‘tweet’ a generic message to everyone following, @mention – send a direct tweet to someone, and to send a direct message.
